Strawberry Compote, Brown Sugar
Our newest coffee this fall is coming from the central province of Africa in the Kahuro District. At 1800 meters and with high quality soil, the only two varietals here: SL-28 and SL-34 create a bright and interesting cup. There’s lots of savory fruit (think: a well cooked compote of strawberries or tomatoes) and some light floral notes, rounded out by a light brown sugar characteristics. This creates a nice start to a warm and complex cup. This is a washed coffee that benefitted from raised beds during drying. Another fun fact: the Kaganda washing station is 5 acres big and has been in operation since1970!
