El Carpintero, San Lorenzo, Narino, Colombia
Cinnamon, Pear, Maple Syrup
From: $16.50
Narino is part of the Eje Cafetero (Coffee Axis or Coffee Triangle), where the majority of Colombian coffee is produced. In 1985 Laureano Gomez returned to his home of San Lorenzo and bought the land that is now El Carpintero. Thirty-eight years later, he still calls the farm home along with his wife, Maria, and their two adult daughters. Coffee was not always the main crop at El Carpintero: years ago the climate was too cold, but as the weather has been getting warmer and warmer, the area is now more hospitable to coffee plants.
